A pod that reaches 80 W does not behave like a pocket pod. On the Geekvape Aegis Force, a single pod takes eight different coils, from a tight draw to a very airy one, and the screen offers two ways of handling power. Pair them badly and the flavour goes flat or the coil wears out early. Pair them well and this small device becomes remarkably versatile. The question is where to start.

Geekvape Aegis Force, what is in the box and what it does

The Geekvape Aegis Force is a pod mod, meaning a pod whose battery and chipset sit closer to those of a box mod. On its own website, Geekvape lists the device simply as Force and quotes a 3200 mAh built-in battery, a maximum output of 80 W, the AS Chip 4.0 and a zinc-alloy body. It is designed for mouth-to-lung and direct-to-lung vaping alike.

The name causes some confusion, since UK retailers and reviewers sell and test it as the Aegis Force. Both names refer to the same device, first reviewed in December 2025.

Published reviews list the device, a pod, a pre-installed 0.2 ohm B Series coil, a spare 0.4 ohm coil, two drip tips (one for mouth-to-lung, one for direct-to-lung), a USB-C cable and a manual. It comes in six colours.

The standard pod holds 5 ml, but UK rules cap refillable tanks and pods at 2 ml, so the version sold in Britain is the 2 ml one. Nicotine e-liquid on UK shelves is also limited to 20 mg/ml and sold in bottles of no more than 10 ml.

Two power modes, the logic of a box mod

The colour screen gives access to two modes, called Smart and Power. Choosing between them mostly comes down to whether you want to set the wattage yourself. A third feature, the lock, prevents unwanted surprises in a pocket.

Smart mode

In Smart mode, the device reads the installed coil and caps the output at a suitable level. It is the simplest setting to start with, and the most practical one if you switch coils often.

Power mode

Power mode lets you pick any output from 5 to 80 W. It is there to fine-tune a coil, for example by starting at the bottom of its range and moving up a few watts while the flavour keeps improving.

The screen and the A-Lock switch

The colour TFT screen measures 0.96 inches. A sliding switch called A-Lock disables the device, with a red light when it is locked and a blue one when it is free. A device that refuses to fire should be checked here first.

Which B coil to fit in the Geekvape Aegis Force

All of the versatility of the Geekvape Aegis Force comes from the brand’s B coil range, which the Force pod accepts in full. The table sets out the official ranges for these coils, which are more precise than some of the figures repeated in reviews.

CoilVersionStated rangeIntended draw
0.15 ohmBoost60 to 75 Wvery airy direct-to-lung
0.2 ohm (pre-installed)Boost50 to 58 Wdirect-to-lung
0.3 ohmBoost30 to 38 Wmoderate direct-to-lung
0.4 ohm (supplied)Boost25 to 35 Wrestricted direct-to-lung
0.6 ohmBoost15 to 25 Wrestricted direct-to-lung
0.6 ohmMTL15 to 25 Wloose mouth-to-lung
0.8 ohmMTL12 to 16 Wmouth-to-lung
1.2 ohmMTL8 to 12 Wtight mouth-to-lung

For direct-to-lung

Coils of 0.15, 0.2 and 0.3 ohm are meant for the wide drip tip and fully open airflow. Even the pre-installed 0.2 ohm asks for at least 50 W, which draws more from the battery than the higher-resistance coils.

For a restricted draw

The supplied 0.4 ohm and the 0.6 ohm Boost suit anyone who wants a tighter draw while staying on the direct-to-lung side. They run at clearly lower outputs, around 25 to 35 W for the first.

For mouth-to-lung

The 0.8 and 1.2 ohm MTL coils, paired with the narrow drip tip and almost closed airflow, bring the draw close to that of a classic pen-style vape. Two published reviews give 10 to 14 W for the 1.2 ohm, while the official range stops at 8 to 12 W. When in doubt, the figure printed on the coil is the one to trust.

B coil life, the manufacturer’s own figures

On its B coil page, Geekvape gives an order of magnitude that is rarely quoted elsewhere. A B Boost coil should last for roughly 50 to 60 ml of e-liquid, against 20 to 30 ml for a B MTL coil. With 2 ml pods, that works out at around 25 to 30 refills for a Boost coil and 10 to 15 for an MTL one. Coil life varies with how often the device is used, the propylene glycol and vegetable glycerine ratio, and the way you draw.

Three signs show it is time for a change, a burnt taste or fading flavour, a switch to a different flavour, and liquid left in the pod for too long. An output set above the coil’s range, or puffs taken back to back without letting the cotton soak again, shortens coil life considerably.

Priming matters just as much, with a wait of 3 to 5 minutes recommended after the first fill so the cotton is fully saturated. Skip it, and a new coil can burn within the first few puffs.

The pod, where the spec sheets disagree

Filling goes through a silicone flap, but published descriptions do not agree on where it sits. Two reviews place it on the side of the pod, another at the bottom, and one spec aggregator describes top filling. Before ordering a spare pod, the product photo remains the safest way to check.

Airflow is adjusted at the top, with a ring just below the drip tip. Because the air does not enter from the bottom of the pod, the design aims to keep liquid away from the electronics. The drip tip uses the 810 format.

Two reviews also point out that no IP dust and water rating is claimed for this model. The metal body feels solid, but it still deserves sensible storage, and our guide to vape cases covers the options. Each Geekvape family has its own pod, as our map of the Geekvape Wenax range shows for the brand’s smaller devices.

Who this 80 W pod is for

The Geekvape Aegis Force is aimed first at vapers who want one device that moves from a tight draw to open direct-to-lung vaping, without handling removable batteries. For anyone new to this kind of device, Smart mode and a 0.8 ohm coil make a simple starting point.

Direct-to-lung vapers will find comfortable headroom with the 0.2 and 0.3 ohm coils. The device is heavier than a compact pod, though, and anyone who values discretion above all will be better served by something smaller.

FAQ

A few questions come up regularly when people first get to grips with the Force, beyond the choice of coil.

How long does the Force take to charge?

Charging from 0 to 80% is quoted at 40 minutes through the USB-C port, at 5 V and 2 A. A less powerful charger simply takes longer.

Can you vape while it charges?

Yes. Specialist reviews report that the device supports pass-through charging, so it can be used while plugged in.

How do you change the coil?

The B coil pushes into the pod. Remove the pod from the device, pull out the old coil and press the new one firmly into place, since a coil that is not fully seated can cause a poor connection.

Do older B coils work in the Force?

Yes. First-generation B coils and the Boost versions share the same connection and are fully interchangeable.

Which e-liquid suits the Force?

It depends on the coil. A liquid high in vegetable glycerine is thicker, soaks into the cotton more slowly and works better with low-resistance direct-to-lung coils. MTL coils, with their higher resistance, generally cope better with a thinner liquid.

Getting the Geekvape Aegis Force set up right

Once the logic clicks, the Geekvape Aegis Force is not complicated. The coil sets the draw, Smart mode gives a no-fuss start, and Power mode fine-tunes the flavour within the range printed on the coil. With the UK’s 2 ml pod and patient priming, this 80 W pod covers almost every vaping style. It also shows how far current hardware has blurred the line between pods and box mods, a story our piece on the big vape mod follows from the other side.
